Well, well, well, who would have thought thats this would stay so quiet. Sonic 1 has just been released onto the iPhone app store.
Ok, people have been expecting this for quite some time, but it amazes me how Sega have managed to keep this so quiet.
the game itself is just a port of the classic games this touch controls. it isn't flawless, it does lag at some parts in the game.
Also the price £3.49 it just a little bit pricey to be honest, i mean its not a big game like say Myst so really they could do with bringing the price down a tad.
Overall game play is good, like i said it does lag a bit the sound gets a bit muffled form time to time, but at the end of the day... its sonic.
Update: The Level select cheat code still works, well in a fashion. you have to tap the screen once then press:
Up,Down,Left,Right hold down A and press Start.
The level select screen will come up when you hit new game.

Review: Need for Speed - Undercover
Most games on the iPhone have PS1 style graphics and most people would think that it would never be able to compare to the PSP or Nintendo DS, that is now a thing of the past..
We've been awaiting the release of NFS: Undercover for quite some time, I've been playing with it now for about a week and i must say the graphics are epic.
The graphics are comparable to PSP standards, by far the best graphics on the iPhone, the controls are very responsive and, surprisingly there is no lag in the gameplay.
The cutscenes are abit 'naff' but the game is by far the best on the app store so far, definably worth the wait
There are several type of races most are classic like Circuit, Lap Knockout and Sprint. But there are 2 new types are well:
Hot Car:
Basically you have to get an exotic car from A to B without wrecking the car or getting busted by the cops.
Cop Takeout:
Similar to burnout, take out a set number of cop cars in the time limit.
Chase Down:
Similar to cop take out but you have to take out 1 racer within a time limit, usually 1:20.

Review: Resident Evil - Degeneration
Ive been an avid fan of resident evil since it was first brought to our attention on the PS1. So you can imagin how suprised i am when i find that Resident Evil: Degeneration has been brought out for the iPhone.
Now I have seen the CG Film that the game is based on and i imagined it would be a pretty hefty game but unfortunatly the game only consists of the first past of the movie i.e the airport so this was a big let down for me.
For those who haven't seen the film, I would suggest watching it first before you decide to purchase the game.
Gameplay:
The controls are ok apart from when your are trying to aim, if you move the "Joystick" too fast it tends to move Leon instead of the gun. Also, there are no voices for any of the characters only subtitles. It is true to genre with a bit of puzzle solving and a little bit more shooting zombies.
Graphics:
A bit blocky to be honest, seems that Capcom didn't go as far as they could with this game which is quite disappointing.
Overall this is a pretty sturdy game, its worth the £3.99 price tag .

Wolfenstine 3D V1.1
As usual, this morning I checked the iPhone App Store for updates, and low and behold, my recenlty purchase Wolfinstine 3D has already has an update pending, and i must say its a pretty significant update.
*updated loading screen
*Sound toggle/allows own background music
*Better graphical textures/higher quality
*Ability to scroll through weapons
To say its been classed at 1.1 i wouldnt have been suprised it they had classed it as a 2.0.

Review: Ferrari GT
I know this game has been out quite a while. But i have only just purchased it and have been playing on it for a couple of days, and in quite impressed.
Gameplay:
The interface is very user friendly and easy to use, a range of beautiful cars responsive controls and the ability to control the car by touching the screen or by turning the device.
Graphics:
Unlike its brother Asphalt 4, the graphics are smooth including both the car and the surroundings.
Multiplayer:
Havent had chance to test it yet seen as its only Ad Hoc but the next update of the game will include online duals.
